I'm still such a DC Comics fagirl... channel surfing and
suddenly seeing the Justice League fightting the Brainiac/Lex Luthor hybrid on
Justice League Unlimited reminded me of the fun I had reading the
L.E.G.I.O.N. 'xx comics. Superman's concern over Lex Luthor and his
inability to destroy the nanobot that had taken Luthor's likeness was so much
fun (as in yaoi-fodder), and I wouldn't have liked to be in Brainiac/Luthor's
shoes when he was mercilessly being run over and hammered by a hyperactive
Flash.
Too bad JLU is transmitted while I'm usually in classes, unless
it's re-transmitted later in the the day. I'll have to check the local listings
for that. And it makes me want to re-enter that worl again, but I still haven't
found a place to restart..
Fall season series that are on my must-watch list: Black Cat,
Aria, Cluster Edge, Blood+, My Zhime and awaiting
the new Fafner animation. Currently watching .Hack//sign,
Mobile Suit Gundam, MSG 0083 Stardust Memories, Futari wa Pretty
Cure, Ojamajo Doremi, Ojamajo Doremi Naisho, Z Gundam,
Onmyou Taisenki, Eureka 7, Space Runaway Ideon, Round
Vernian Vifam, 08th MS Team, Zettai Shonen, Kamen Rider
Hibiki.
ZZ Gundam, Turn A Gundam, G Gundam and the
Char's Counterattack and Gundam F91 movies are on hold until I
finish watching the other Gundam series. Also on hold are Yakitate!! Japan
(ever since they entered the Monaco Grand Prix, which was good, but not enought
for me to watch it all over again, so I'm just downloading), Full Metal Panic
and Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid.
Stopped watching the Bleach anime altogether I'm
just sticking with the manga (written like this to avoid spoilers *let's see if
this works*who would have thought Kurosaki Papa was a
Shinigami and that Ishida Papa had Quincy powers but refused to be a Quincy?).
Same with Naruto.
My manga reading list is geeting quite long. I wish I could
actually buy more, but with the current situacion I can only buy a few titles,
which makes me glad that manga licensed by Vid in Mexico is cheaper, not to
mention their translations are quite good and they're unedited/uncensored.
Speaking of which, Vid claims to hold the licensed for several
new titles, but the ones that hold my interest are Duklyon, Evangelion
Iron Maiden 2nd, Tokyo Babylon, Sailor Moon (in order to
complete my current collection. I don't care if I have spanish books mixed in
with english ones. I'm already doing it with Evangelion and X
anyways), DNAngel, Angel Sanctuary, and quite posibly
Gravitation and Tsubasa Reservior Chronicles (I'm still waiting to
hear the moment X's Kamui makes his appearance there).
I want more Shaman King, but first I have to mail Dyz's
package.
Anyways. Mai Otome a.k.a. My Zhime. Apparently
it's set on a future alternate Earth, or another planet, since Nina says that
Wind Bloom is the only place that preserved most of Earth's technology (BTW,
Arika carefully saving the train ticket as a souvenir reminded me of the things
I usually do). So apparently, 15 years before, Wind Bloom was deevastated in a
war that involved some girl escaping from a castle with a baby, giving the baby
a pendant and puting a container with baby and pendant in a river to save it. 15
years later, the school is still looking for the person with the pendant, in
comes Arika who just happens to have that pendant (which saves her life during a
Slave attack), while Arika herself is in Wind Bloom because all she knows was
that her mother was an Otome, and plans to become an Otome herself.
So it sounds to be as interesting as it's predecesor, Mai
HiME, even when I don't like the look of the girls weird battlesuits, which
apparently are called Corals. But it's hard not to try and connect it with
Mai HiME, with the badguys making some sort of blood pacts with a crystal in
order to obtain a Slave, and then dissapearing if the Slave get's destroyed.
Alternate Mikoto is a fat, lazy cat (I'll miss the old feral,
hyperactive, ramen-loving Mikoto) and there's alternates of other HiME
characters as well as the new cast. Let's see how it turns out, so far so good.
Black Cat. Train looks more childish than in the manga.
And it seems that, despite the fact that it will have the whole Creed and the
Apostles of the Stars story, it will be more like an alternate universe kind of
thing.
It starts with Train still being one of the Chronos Numbers,
with Creed lusting dangerously after Train (as he has a tendency to do), Sven is
a Sweeper working alone and Eve is already quite trained in her nanomachines and
killing techniques (though we didn't get to see that, just got to see her in a
party). The episode end with Train sort of havinf a daydream nightmare (if that
is possible), and waking up to some song, seeing Saya singing from the roof top
next to where he is.
So far, I can't tell if they say if this is how Train met Saya,
or if they already knew each other.
The fact that things are already happening in an order different
from the manga has caught my attention. Hopefully the general storyline won't
stray to far from the original as it happened with Shaman King.
Now to wait for subs of the other series.
Feeling: Sleepy
Now playing:
Prismatism (Rainbow Brite OST... yeah, I can be weird)
