Blue Frame and Sykes
Blue Frame's back, and so am I.
It wasn't a conflict with the antivirus program as I had
initially suspected. It wasn't a hardware with the dvd rom as my brother had
suggested. It wasn't a damaged hard drive and Windows wasn't corrupt at all.
All my reinstallation attempts were for naught. No matter what
cd I tried, I got the Blue Screen of Death during installation.
Fearing it was the hard drive, I went to a small computer store
in the neighborhood to ask for the price of a new hard drive. I don't even
remember how I started talking about the problems I was having with Blue Frame,
but talk I did.
"Before you waste money on testing the hard drive or buying a
new one," the guy at the store said, "Why don't you pit the ram memory the way
you originally had them? Maybe the 1 GB ram is the problem. It could be
damaged".
So I tried, and lo and behold, the whole damned problem was
being caused by the memory.
I don't know how I could have missed that one. I could have
saved myself a lot of headaches and program recoveries...
On to the job change.
Things haven't been all that good on the construction industry,
so father is down-sizing and will eventually close. A couple of months ago he
suggested that I start looking for another job.
This week I started Sykes training. Next week we'll start
training in the specifics of the account my group will work in. Training is from
2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., though. But once we start working, it will be normal
office hours, since we'll be working with dentists.
Of course, that means we get US holidays, but not local
holidays.
Sounds like fun actually.
And my class/training mates are all very nice people.
Great... now D-land won't load... guess I'll upload this on
saturday.
