Have I ran out of decent
titles?
At the beginning of the month, Saori made a note on her blog about a
manga she won
in another blog's contest. The manga itself is Made in Spain, which of course
piqued my curiosity and made me go to the publisher's website.
Among the titles NowEvolution is
printing,
Nomadas caught my eye. A little tinkering in their site and a couple of
e-mails later, the book was in it's merry way. Their final e-mail was that they
were going to send some more promotional stuff via snail mail. Whatever it is,
why couldn't they send it in the same envelope as the book is beyond me
In any case, the book is now with me. Picked it up early saturday morning. Yay!.

That's the main guy, Zhyre, on the cover. It will be 5 volumes apparently.
The story's flow was a bit jumpy and things were confusing at times. Nothing
that can't be fixed with another read (and I tend to re-read them a lot
anyways). Interesting enough to make me keep an eye out for the next one.
Which reminds me that I also have to pick up the second Looking for the
Sun volume... but for the Sweatdrop titles I like to take advantage of the
free shipping, so I actually have to buy the dollar equivalent to
£15.00 or more. Adding the first volumes of
Rainbow Carousel and Ambient Rhythm works perfectly. I only have to
save up a bit, which is hard considering...
1- The bills I have to pay. Electricity consumption doesn't seem to decrease,
despite our attempts to actually reduce consumption. And with the subsidy
killed, the electric bill increased more. By Frith, May last year I was paying
around $115, and this year it's $140. We're barely home during the day, dammit!
Water and phone bills are within reasonable levels. In fact, for the phone bill
I only pay the set minimum fee since we rarely use up the basic 100 minutes.
It's the electricity one I'm really worried about.
and 2- It's Reborn doujin season. I just pre-ordered the hard copy of
the Vongola History Lesson, which will have extras exclusive to the hard copy,
and then there's a G27 doujin that looks interesting.
Speaking of Reborn, if both Dino and Squalo managed to sneak into the
Choice battlefield, I wonder if Gamma sneaked in as well. He'll probably want to
see the whole thing through to the end and rescue Uni. And he did see Byakuran's
huge holographic face over the shrine, and he probably had enough time to get
there.
Now, regarding the whole Funimation thing. To make a long story short, Funi
had a deal with Toei and Fuji TV that would allow them to stream the subbed
version of the most One Piece episode an hour after it japanese airing.
In the States and Canada, of course. Such a deal would apparently start this
weekend, with One Piece 403. Turns out that someone got into Funi's
servers and leaked the episode on Saturday, before it even aired in Japan. This
has made Funi stop all One Piece streams for the time being, until the
matter is resolved, because it also means problems for Toei and Fuji TV.
Personally, I don't care about One Piece itself. And, though I don't
love or hate Funi, I'm still annoyed over the whole Reborn thing, but I'm
still hoping there's a dvd release that I can buy. Apparently it won't affect
the Reborn subs (I learned that Funi is the one subbing it). But I still think
that leaking an anime episode instead of waiting for the legal stream (or the
rip of the legal stream, for those of us who are region locked) was pretty low.
Nothing to gain from that, and all the people supporting the legal stream got
affected
As we say in spanish: Pagaron justos por pecadores.
Hopefully this thing will get solved. I'd hate to see the series I like be
affected by this.
And tomorrow is the new President's inauguration. I really hope I'm wrong
about him.
Feeling: calm
