Over the weekend I did a little searching for a battery for my cellphone. No one was carrying that particular battery, not that there was anything special with it, and as far as I know it's an average Samsung battery, but for some reason, no store had it. One store told me they would have it next week and would cost around $27.00, and another store told me they could order it for me for around $15.00, but no guarantee that he could find it or when he would get it. The guy in a third store that it could still last for a long time and not to change it unless the charge lasted less than a day.

I know that in this day and age, a two year old cellphone is obsolete, but not being able to replace a battery is just ridiculous.

And living in quake country, a series like Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 is enough to make not want to be caught in a similar situation with a battery that only lasts a bit more than 72 hours under normal circumstances (a little paranoid on my part, I know...).

Maybe it was really a subconscious desire to have a new phone, and I'm afraid (not) to say that it worked.

Yesterday I saw a new Samsung phone (an M2310) on Digicel that had more features than the C400L (which translated to not having to jump through hoops just to personalize ringtone and background, actual strapya space, a slightly better camera and larger memory.) and for $10.00 less than what I had originally paid for the C400L.

After telling the Digicel lady what Murphy did last time, I asked her if they weren't going to lower the price of this model anytime soon. She told that it was actually released yesterday, so no, no lowering of prices anytime soon.

So yeah. New cellphone. With Elijah background (again), Hibird as ringtone (again) and Fran calmly saying "your head goes boom!" (or something like that) in japanese. And I was supposed to use up the battery before charging it completely, but everytime I connected the USB cable it would start to recharge, so no I'm trying to use up the battery by listening to music on it (but seems like it will take a while).

Oohh... shiny!

I think the Celestial Being strapya will match it well.

And I learned how to change a car battery today. Yay.
